A bad station does not need a long emotional analysis during the exam. It needs a practical reset.
The reset needs to be short enough to use under pressure. It should not require you to believe that the previous station was fine.

A bad station can make the next station worse if you try to compensate for it. You may enter the next room trying to prove yourself, recover marks, or avoid repeating the same mistake.
That sounds reasonable, but it often makes the next station less natural. You may speak too fast, over-explain, interrupt the patient, force the structure, rush the opening, or miss what the new station is actually asking.
The next station does not need compensation. It needs a clean start.
The real recovery challenge is often not the bad station itself. It is what happens when the candidate moves from one station to the next.
Use a short reset routine after a bad station. It should be simple enough to use under pressure and short enough to fit between stations.
The reset is not designed to make you feel perfect. It is designed to return enough attention to perform the next first step.
